Sam Paganini’s 5 Tracks of the Moment

Sam Paganini Drumcode Satellite

Italian techno troubador Sam Paganini has been deep in the mix since the ’90s. He’s been coming on strong in recent years by releasing tracks on Richie Hawtin’s Plus8 and Sven Väth’s Cocoon Recordings. Adam Beyer’s Drumcode has also been an outlet for Paganini sublime productions, and that ongoing relationship has led to the release of his upcoming debut album, Satellite.

Inspired by his DJ gigs at Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album orbits on an axis of minimal funk and all-out floor burners.

Ahead of the release of Satellite, we checked in with the maestro and asked him to wax poetic about his five favorite tunes of the moment.

Drumcode will release Satellite on September 5. Catch him at Move in Frankfurt, Germany, on August 30.

1. Adam Beyer – Spaceman (Drumcode)
This is my fave track from the new Teach Me EP from Drumcode’s boss. Groovy!

2. Sound Associates – “Boombox” (Len Faki DJ Edits)
This track is currently rocking the floor on all of my sets.

3. Gary Beck feat. Debra Debs – Get Together (Bek Audio)
This new Gary Beck single is simply perfect!

4. Alan Fitzpatrick – “For Fear Tonight Is All”
I really love Alan’s new track from the Cocoon Compilation N. Very cool atmosphere and brilliant synths.

5. Hinz & Ruhmhardt – “Doch”
Often this summer this song has been my set’s closing track.
