The five-day Glastonbury Festival taking place every June in Somerset, England, is one of the most iconic music events in the world. While bands of all styles have been invited en masse to strut their stuff on Glastonbury’s multiple stages since its inception the ’70s, dance music has typically gotten short shrift from the festival’s organizers. In recent years the situation has thankfully improved and this year dance music was better represented, with appearances by a wide array of artists ranging from New York house music legend David Morales, Bristol big big honcho Fatboy Slim, dubstep star Skrillex, UK trance trio Above & Beyond and house stars Maya Jane Cole and Seth Troxler.
As fans trounced around the mud, dodged lighting storms and rocked out to the likes of Metallica, Dolly Parton, MGMT, Lana Del Rey and Bryan Ferry, a good time seemed to had by all.
