BSTV: The Crystal Method

The Crystal Method‘s Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland sat down with Big Shot backstage at Webster Hall in New York City and discussed their forthcoming album, Divided By Night. The album features a host of cameos, including Matisyahu (who appears on the first single, “Drown In The Now”), Justin Warfield, Emily Haines, Meiko, and others. We’ve heard a few tracks from Divided, and they’re killer. But let’s allow the boys to tell you more about what’s in store in this exclusive video.

BSTV: Moby

Big Shot met up with good-friend-of-the-magazine Moby (who readers will recall served as the guest editor for our first anniversary issue) in Soho earlier this week, and we found out that he’s been holed up in his studio, making music as if his life depended on it and DJing quite a bit (that part we already knew). Moby, who penned a lil’ story in Issue 25 (more on that at a later date), is readying the release of his new DJ mix, Last Night Remixed, which features the acclaimed electronic music pioneer mixing up remixes of tracks from his most recent album, Last Night. In this exclusive clip, Moby explains why the time was right to do a mix CD.

BSTV: Producer Machine Discusses His New Remix/Mashup Series

Famed producer/remixer Machine (Lamb of God, Every Time I Die) is a diehard electronic music fan. On this clip, Machine, who is profiled in Big Shot‘s Issue 24, discusses his new remix/mashup series running on friendsorenemies.com. It’s so new the series doesn’t even have a name yet!

What Did You Think of Last Night’s VP Debate?

VP debate

Okay, so last night’s VP debate wasn’t the trainwreck that many were hoping for predicting. Joe Biden didn’t say anything out of order, and Sarah Palin sounded like she had done a lot of rehearsing. At some points Palin sounded like a consummate politician; she avoided questions she didn’t want to answer and kept launching into pre-prepared mantras about John McCain and what it’s like to be a hockey mom. By the same token, Biden, a seasoned debater, never went in for the kill and repeated himself a lot. (He also appears to have difficulty pronouncing his running-mate’s name at times.) So what did you think of last night’s debate?
