Premiere: LPT – Somos LPT (Papi Disco Manteca Remix)

LPT-band

Jacksonville, FL-based ten-piece band LPT are talented purveyors of salsa and Afro-Cuban music. Formed in 2015, they released their well-received nine-track debut album, Sin Parar (Bold City Records), at the end of January. They’re a gifted group of musicians who tear it up when they perform live.

LPT is preparing to drop a seven-inch single, “Los Bravos,” on July 31st. It’s backed with a Latin disco remix of “Somos LPT” from their aforementioned full-length crafted by DJ/producer Papi Disco which we’re thrilled to world premiere. It’s overflowing with infectious salsa-style piano, swinging percussion and hypnotic rhythms.

Says Papi of his remix, “The original song [“Somos LPT”] has so much energy. And this remix is my journey through the song. I’m excited that I was able to work with my boys and they allowed me to get creative and interpret the song as it sounded in my head.”

Video Premiere: Joshua Trinidad & Riatsu – He Was Right Here

Video Premiere: Joshua Trinidad & Riatsu - He Was Right Here

East meets West on an introspective musical union between Denver-based trumpeter Joshua Trinidad (Sage Francis, Lee Konitz, Nathaniel Ratliffe) and Mumbai-based ambient artist Riatsu.

Together, they produced the Lithium EP due out July 2 via Subcontinental Records.

“The world we see now is stuck in a loop of manic impulses. A state of Paranoia. This album was created with an intent to shed some light in the dark. To give some solace.”

We’re pleased to world premiere the pensive video for the EP’s second cut, “He Was Right There,” directed by Sharath U Holla.

As the duo’s beatless track unwinds, a dark liquid is introduced into a body of clear water. From there we see a depiction of what happens when lithium, a mood stabilizer used to treat manic depression, is in the body.
