Baggi 5 Tracks of the Moment

Baggi Begovic chart

At the end of May seasoned Rotterdam-based dance floor alchemist Baggi dropped a pulverizing springtime house scorcher in the form of a collab with Dutchman Boris Ross titled “What You Do.” The label? Loco Dice’s esteemed Desolat label, of course.

“What You Do” is a simple, but effective track: Stomping kick drum. Repetitive vocal sample. Tactical synth stabs. It’s peak-hour lighting in a bottle that’ll no doubt take clubbers down the rabbit hole well into closing season.

As his collab continues to garner attention, we checked in with Mr. Begovic and asked him to talk up his current favorite tracks. Continue Reading

Badin Brothers 5 Tracks of the Moment

Rising DJ/producer brothers Scott and Olivier Badin popped onto our radar in 2017 espousing a house-tastic sound that’s informed by a host of other musical styles. The Paris-bred, London-based siblings have continued to hone their infectious sound while rocking dance floors in Ibiza and points beyond.

In March the Badins dropped their Mind over Matter EP on Housekeeping, a label and event brand who they’ve maintained a close relationship since the get-go. There’s also a nice lil’ buzz building over “Crepuscule” found on the Reflections Vol. 3 EP, which dropped in May on Crossings Records.

Ahead of a busy summer, we asked the guys to share their favorite tracks of the moment, and they were happy to comply. Continue Reading

Basti Grub 5 Tracks of the Moment

Basti Grub

Whenever a fresh Basti Grub promo hits into my inbox, I take note. The prolific German minimal tech-house phenom never fails to impress.

After collaborating with Timo Maas and Eric Volta on the standout 2018 track “We Were Riding High” released on mobilee, his musical output in 2019 has exceeded expectations. And we aren’t even halfway done with the year.

In March, Mr. Grub unleashed the funky-ass jam “Darling” feat. Crase Johnson on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations; the Plarsch EP on Dubfire’s SCI+TEC label, a moody three-tracker full of spacey vibes and airy synths; and a remix of Ezikiel’s “Infinity Race.”
