How was 2019 for you? Pretty Pink: It was really a wonderful year with awesome gigs and unforgettable experiences. I’ve continued to develop my sound, been in the studio and on the road at a lot to play in nice clubs and festivals and have taken my label Wanderlust further forward. But above all, I am happy that more and more people around the globe are listening to my radio show Deep Woods and also to scale the show from radio to a live club concept.
Highlights?
That’s always hard to answer. My release “Deepest Beat” on Found Frequencies or my Fairytale EP on Wanderlust Music are some of the highlights besides many fantastic moments behind the decks.
Lowlights?
Having not enough time to realize all ideas at once – so 2020 next try!

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
I don’t believe in a New Year’s resolutions, just in the fact in which people’s company you start your new year!

How was 2019 for you?
NØLAH: Full of emotions! I’ve had the pleasure to play in clubs and festivals that I never imagined (Brunch-In the City, DGTL, Aquasella, Chocolate Festival Lausanne, Kitty Su Mumbai, Ostrov Kiev, etc.). I’ve met amazing people, and I enjoyed so much sharing my music.
Highlights?
I am very happy with this year’s releases. I’m very grateful for all the gigs and tours I’ve done and also to be awarded for the best Spanish-American live artist in the Vicious Music Awards (VMA).
Lowlights?
They are not always good things, I have had a difficult time at work (I have another job as a music teacher) that has led me to make a decision for next year, to dedicate myself 100 percent to my music.
Song of the year?
It’s complicated. There are many songs that I loved this year, but I chose it because it is very different from the others:

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
It has been an intense year, but the most important thing of this year is the decision I have made to bet on music and focus on producing and live set.

How was 2019 for you? Mary Yuzovskaya: It was more about studio time than any other year in my career. This year I was able to dedicate more hours to musicmaking. I learned a lot and witnessed some encouraging progress in my production. Also, 2019 was a lot about working on my label, Monday Off (two records were released this year, and I’m very proud of both of them), and, of course, about DJing at home, nationally and internationally – visiting old friends and debuting in new cities and countries.
Highlights?
So many! I had a lot of fantastic shows this year: two Canadian debuts (merci Ottawa and Montreal), played for the first time in Seattle with one of my favorite U.S.-based labels, Secondnature, accompanied by my partners in crime Pure Immanence; awesome pre-birthday gig at Ithaca, NY with my dear friends at Microtones; wonderful trippy mini-rave with Outer Orbit in Brooklyn, four-hour set at the Basement.
I also had a chance to play on the most amazing, warm, custom-made sound system in the U.S. -at Public Records with one of my favorites, Blazej Malinowski; Whole Festival with the Unter crew; Smangtasia at the most gorgeous location with the NY fam; debuts in Geneva, LA, Augsburg; very special gigs in Berlin (thank you, Buttons and Pornceptual) … I made a lot of beautiful memories for the past twelve months.
Lowlights?
I feel like as long as everyone I care about is alive and healthy I can’t really complain, can I? Of course, it’s not all bunnies, rainbows and kittens all year round. Some things didn’t go as planned, some gigs and releases got canceled, some things didn’t work out, but I think that’s just the part of the process.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Sleep more, stress less, spend more time with loved ones and less on my phone, make more music, take one step at a time and learn how to not freak out because of the unknown.

How was 2019 for you?
Francesca Lombardo: 2019 was definitely a busy year for me. I had plenty of releases out starting with my last album single “Rain” back in January, followed by my album Life of Leaf in february. In March I released for Mixmag a remix of “Do Me” by Teddy Pendergrass on Sony Music Legacy Recordings. It was such an honor to be part of the project and the release was well received on Spotify as well as other music platforms. In July I had my collaboration track “A Million Souls” with Hannes Bieger released on Bedrock Records, which I am happy to see still dancing in the charts, and in September I released my Flumen EP on Poker Flat Recordings, a label that I loved and followed for years so that was a very great achievement for me.
I also just released a remix for Mihai Popoviciu track called “Sleepwalking” also on Poker Flat Recordings. All of this was of course happening while touring the world DJing nonstop! During this year I also started Life of Releaf, an environmental campaign in partnership with One Tree Planted aim to mobilize the dance music community into supporting global reforestation around the world.
Highlights?
My live show “Life of Leaf” at Giant Steps in April to present my album. It was my first finished show and was really important for me. We presented the show with the final visuals, and we are hoping to start touring it next year. The full show was filmed and will be soon presented on social media.
Lowlights?
Sometimes the music business can be tough when you are not surrounded by a good team of people working with you. Unfortunately, I had to switch from one team to another and this way, at times, you can make enemies even if you don’t want to. However, everything resolved pretty well and I am very happy where I am now.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To focus on myself and being able to take a break for this new life I am carrying till I am back in full force!
