Premiere: Mat Andasun – Beginning

Mat Andasun

For our first premiere of 2022, we eschew the allure of a booming 4/4 beat for “Beginning,” a spacious ambient excursion spiced with spoken word, crafted by producer/composer/multi-instrumentalist Mat Andasun.

Culled from Andasun’s Full Circuit full-length out January 21, 2022 via Pretty Decent Music, the track is part of a multi-part album that wrestles with a narrative “of the living, the dying and the unknown, told through dreamy synth underscores and inspirational electronic instrumentals.”

Video Premiere: Gagarin – Panceat (Emergo Mix)

GAGARIN

In November 2020, producer/musician Graham “Dids” Dowdall released his Great North Wood full-length under his Gagarin moniker in all of its ambient splendor.

A veteran who has played with Nico, Didwell has collaborated with John Cale, Ludus, Eric Random, Suns of Arqa, Band of Holy Jo and Low Bias, and is a member of avant rock legends Pere Ubu and duo Roshi featuring Pars Radio.

Today we’re pleased to world premiere the music video for the remixed version of “Panceat” from the album.

On the self-produced six-minute clip, Didwell explores the colors and textures of a large sheet of rust as the remix explores the depths of ambient techno. He says the rusty metal signifies the concept of nature and the beginning of the post-industrial age in London.
