How was 2018 for you?
Terry Grant: 2018 was great. Finished two albums, the first of several short films, and even managed to finish a painting (which is, for me, quite the achievement, as that kind of thing normally takes forever). I’m currently in pre-production on the next short film, and working on a whole new More Ghost Than Man album.
Highlights?
Probably finishing the latest album, Everything Impossible Is Far Away. It’s a bit of a departure, sound wise – almost more of a musical detour rather than a proper follow-up to the first record — but I’m really proud of the way it turned out, and it goes beautifully with the film and video stuff I’m working on.
Lowlights?
Well, I dropped a 2×4 on my face while building the set for the new short film. That kind of sucked.
Song of the year?
Anything off of either Daniel Avery’s Song For Alpha or Oneohtrix Point Never’s Age Of.
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Hmm… What’s that Flaubert quote? “Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be violent and original in your work.” Let’s go with that.
