Drummer/producer Steve Bryant approaches music in a fearless way. In addition to sitting behind the kit for Benzos, Michna, Eliot Lipp, and Young & Sick, the NYC native infuses his tracks with glitchy beats and sinewy electronics. It’s no wonder why his jams have even been featured on shows like Silicon Valley.
Bryant produces music as Cru the Dynamic, a project where he bridges his passion for jazz, hip-hop and programmed loops. The result is a buoyant sound whose musical POV runs the gamut from Chicago footwork to glitchy breakbeat.
We’re thrilled to world premiere “Here At The Institute” from his upcoming The Quick EP on Young Heavy Souls.
Bryant says the cut “is about finding a place that takes you back to another time in your life. This could be in a scientific way, with the concept of uploading one’s conciseness to the cloud for later access, or just by simply revisiting a place from your past that brings back memories. The song has three movements, representing the past, present and future.”
