In lockstep with his burgeoning career as a globetrotting DJ/producer, Rey & Kjavik has been carefully cultivating his RKJVK label. Earlier this month he unveiled a remix package of “Baby City” on his imprint featuring interpretations by Of Norway, HRRSN and Uone.
The release, which arrives after issuing tracks on Compost, Nite Grooves and BY awake, sets the stage for his upcoming album, Rkadash, out in a few months on Katermukke.
As Rey & Kjavik puts the finishing touched on his full-length, we asked the Frankfurt mixmaster to share his five favorite tracks of the moment.
Yuma – “Smek”
“Smek” is my favorite track on the Tunisian duo Yumas debut album Chura. Just great!
Kerala Dust – “Nevada”
I Like the vibe here a lot! As you can see this track has been on SoundCloud for a while but finally comes out on Laut & Luise.
Jai Uttal – “Durga Pahimam” (Dandara & Avem Edit)
This nice and relaxed edit of Jai Uttal’s “Durga Pahimam” always puts me in a good mood.
Dle Yaman (Donev re-form)
This re-work is the perfect translation to slow down daily hustle.
Barry Woolnough – “Great Father Spirit in the Sky”
Such a great tune with massive dark vocals. I love the deepness in it.
