Swiss DJ/producer David Durango (a.k.a. David Duran) has been on quite a musical journey. After acid house caught his ear as a teenager, he became ensconced in hip-hop and eventually gravitated to electronic music. All of these musical styles inform his signature which can be heard on choice releases on top labels including Poker Flat, NRK, Chapter 24 and Supplement Facts. Tomorrow this rising star’s career ascends to a new level with the release of his sublime four-track Petit Prince EP on Alex Niggemann’s Soulfooled.
We’re extremely pleased to world premiere the gorgeous, sleek and techy title track. “I called the track ‘Little Prince’ because at a Turkish feast (my wife is Turkish) in honor of a little boy,” he shares. “I was surrounded by about 1,000 people along with their dance rituals and music and it inspired me to create this track with oriental rhythms and a powerful musical line to represent this little boy who was celebrated as a king, but in the end was the Petit Prince.”
