BBC’s Daft Punk Documentary Due In 2015

BBC Worldwide Productions France has announced it will produce a documentary about robot-obsessed French dance duo Daft Punk. The film is the first commission for BBC Worldwide from Canal+ and will air in 2015. The filmmakers say the flick will provide an overview of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo 20-year career making music and their rise to global superstardom. No word yet on which artists will be interviewed or if Daft Punk will participate in the release. The documentary is written and directed by Hervé Martin Delpierre and co-written by Marina Rozenman. It will be produced by Jean-Louis Blot, Head of BBC Worldwide Productions France and Patrice Gellé, Executive Producer Documentaries.

If you’re wondering about the team’s background producing documentaries about DJs and musicians, well, relax. “Since launching five years ago, BBC Worldwide France has developed a number of successful shows including Dancing with the Stars with TF1, The Great Bake Off with M6, Antiques RoadShow with France 2 and the series of investigative documentaries Harry Roselmack en Immersion with TF1.”
