Premiere: Luka Sambe & Filter Bear – Birds Of The Ravine (Filter Bear Remix)

Luka Sambe & Filter Bear

UK-based electronica artist Nick Tripswitch Brennan launched onedotsixtwo, a sub-label of his eclectic Section Records, last year. From the get-go he delivered In At The Deep End, a 23-track two-disc compendium featuring tracks from a fine selection of like-minded musical spirits, and hasn’t looked back.

After recently issuing “Voight Kampff” with Nick Warren, Brennan’s imprint is set to unveil Luka Sambe & Filter Bear‘s “Birds Of The Ravine.” The cut is a wonderful collaborative track from a pair of up-and-coming Aussie producers who happen to be childhood friends.

In addition to the track’s original version, both producers offer their own take on the prog-house track. We’re extremely pleased to world premiere Filter Bear’s evocative remix that’s overflowing with melody and soul.

“This remix was a bit of a challenge, as my personal style is already quite melodic,” says Filter Bear. “In this case the original already had a highly emotive theme, so I set out to slow things down to a more granular and ‘lazy’ level, really maximizing the existing beauty of the original elements. I wanted to create a fresh interpretation of the groove by adding a new bassline, giving the track some energy and drama at the low end to compliment the booming chords and numerous melodies at the top.”

Premiere: Tripswitch – Sinking

Back in November we proclaimed our fondness for veteran chillout artist Nick Brennan (a.k.a. Tripswitch) and his blissful sound that encompasses deep, dark and beautiful house. A year after he released his divine third album, Vagabond, on Denmark’s Iboga Records, Brennan has launched his own imprint, onedotsixtwo, a sub-label of his eclectic electronica label Section Records.

Brennan wastes no time in getting the label off to a running start by mixing In At The Deep End, a 23-track two-disc compendium featuring a wealth of like-minded musical spirits traveling on the same psychic plane.

He says, “As it turns out, In At The Deep End has become the perfect vessel to introduce the world to onedotsixtwo. The album forms a bridge between my long-established Section Records label, and what listeners can expect to hear in the coming months and years on this new imprint.”

Ahead of the Beatport release on May 19 (June 2 sees the compilation’s general release) we’re extremely pleased to world premiere the compilation’s closing “Sinking” produced by Brennan, oozing with his rapturous grooves and glistening melodies.

Premiere: Tripswitch – Big Time Line (Thankyou City Remix)

Veteran chillout artist Nick Brennan (a.k.a. Tripswitch) made a gallant return in May with his third album, Vagabond, released on Denmark’s Iboga Records. Oozing deep house grooves and shimmering melodies, Brennan switched gears and focused on the dance floor — with spectacular results. On December 6 Iboga will present the Vagabond Remixes, a five-track collection of remixes of cuts from the full-length. We’re extremely pleased to world premiere Melbourne duo Thankyou City’s majestic remix of “Big Time Line” from the package. Brothers Brent and Scott Mirams reimagine the rousing vocal track into a woozy subterranean soundtrack that’s tailor-made for 6 am enjoyment.
