How was 2018 for you?
Kalden Bess and Jessica Abruzzese: This year was a hectic year. We produced a lot of material and we were lucky to get support from a lot of people, both online and at our shows. We are super grateful to have been able to work with talented artists with whom we produced remixes of both their songs and ours. Overall, it was an awesome year.
Highlights?
We’ve had many exciting remixes this year. We did a remix of U2’s “Summer of Love” which will be released in 2019. Currently, we have remixes of Moby, Booka Shade, HRRSN and Keybe & Segg available on all platforms and others upcoming with Hector and more. We’ve also done some really nice collaborations with amazing artists.
Netflix has featured five of our tracks for their productions. Four of them available currently and the fifth to be used on another series next year.
This year marks our first official releases. Our first EP Inside came out in October and our second EP Dark Souls came out in December. We were pleasantly surprised that Beatport chose to feature us on the main page, and our track “Dark Souls” got played on BBC Radio 1 by Danny Howard.
This year, we also had the chance to open for HVOB and SOHN, two of our biggest inspirations.
Lowlights?
We were offered a unique touring opportunity in the U.S. over several major cities that unfortunately didn’t pan out for reasons out of our control.
Song of the year?
Rhye – Waste (RY X Remix). We’ve had this song on repeat since it came out.
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To reach out to a bigger audience across many platforms; to keep making music that makes people vibe; to play new exciting venues; and to have many more collaborative projects.
