How was 2018 for you?
Jay Robinson: It’s been a year full of music. I’ve never produced more music than I have this year, and I feel like I’m only just getting started! Add to that sold-out shows in L.A. and the U.K. for Night Bass and releasing a collaboration with the mighty DJ Zinc and it’s been a busy year. I’m making music with some of my heroes and working with a team over at Circle Eight that are actively pushing me forward and helping me achieve my best – it’s been a good year!
Highlights?
Definitely supporting deadmau5 at Ministry of Sound, Printworks London and Warehouse Project in Manchester for the team at 720 and Circle Eight. I never thought I’d get such an amazing opportunity!
Lowlights?
The constant gloom of Brexit hanging over the prospect of life as a traveling musician in Europe.
Song of the year?
Valentino Khan – “Lick It.” Literally never fails. Absolute monster of a track.
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To have more confidence in myself. I never feel like my music is good enough, and it’s something I definitely want to work on.
