New York’s dance music community is mourning the loss of house hero Troy Parrish. According to reports on social media, the underground DJ/producer passed away on December 20. He was 54. The cause of his death is unknown. Parrish earned his reputation playing the infamous Monday night party Sugar Babies among many other events. As a producer, he wrote and produced The Luna Project’s deep-house anthem “I Wanna Be Free” back in 1993. A GoFundMe page has been launched to help pay for his funeral expenses.
