Big things are brewing for The Adversary, a New York City synth-rock project helmed by singer/musician/producer Andre Mistier, formerly of alt-rock outfit ISM. His Chapter 3: Falling is Flight EP is set for release in the spring, and today he’s teasing fans with the exclusive Big Shot world premiere of his brand-new track “Can You Believe.” Co-produced with legendary bassist/producer Bill Laswell, the song’s urgent, angsty vocals are perfectly juxtaposed alongside thumping electronic beats and icy grooves. “We live in a complicated world,” Mistier tells us. “It can become a challenge to maintain one’s sense of wonder.” Check out the video below by Behn Fannin filmed by Allison Harrell.

Premiere: LPZ – “Snake Charmer”

LPZ Snake Charmer

Three years ago Big Shot presented a guest mix by LPZ, an emerging outfit from Paraguay who at the time had cuts tracks for labels including Get Physical and Ninja Tune. Their sound mixed and matched elements of house and techno, and we were instantly smitten by them. Cut to the present and the threesome have truly come into their own as DJs, producers, remixers and more recently owners of LPZ Records. Their Amoeba EP out on April 4 serves as their new label’s third release. We’re thrilled to world premiere the banging smasher “Snake Charmer,” a bombastic techno track wielding the biggest kick drum we’ve heard all year.

Premiere: Wave Magnetik feat. Nicholas Ryan Gant – “Guide Me”

Wave-Magnetik

Give it up for New York City electronic outfit Wave Magnetik led by producer and trumpeter Donald Malloy for creating their own musical lane by utilizing live trumpet and drums to stand out from the pack. The act take their career to the next level with their rousing new jam “Guide Me” featuring Big Apple vocalist Nicholas Ryan Gant. His falsetto soars over the uplifting party-perfect groove and owes its swagger to a bit of divine inspiration. “‘Guide Me’ is a song I wrote from our last Kickstarter campaign. The donor was a pastor of a church so I wrote the song with Sandra Small speaking about the universe/god/spirit guiding you down your path.” Check out the world premiere below.

Premiere: Simion – “Dirty Talk” (Club Mix)

simon Hedonism Music

When we last checked in with Hedonism label honcho Simion he had just unveiled the 13th edition of his Deep & Dirty mix series. Simion continues to push his sweat-inducing agenda forward as evidenced by his new deep jam “Dirty Talk,” which we’re pleased to world premiere. All of the elements that have come to define his sound are present and accounted for: silky groove, crisp beats, naughty vocal samples (“Open up girl…show me what your mama gave ya….”) and basslines from heaven. Hit the play button below, and keep an eye out for a bristling remix from Italian tech-house phenoms Paul C & Paolo Martini.
