2017 Rewind: Paula Cazenave

Paula Cazenave

How was 2017 for you?
Paula Cazenave: It was great. I played a lot of awesome events and festivals and met amazing people. Also I launched my own label, Combine Audio. So I’m happy with this year’s balance.

Highlights?
My set at Dreambeach Festival in Spain, one of the most important events in Spain. I was very focused playing three decks, and I think the selection of tracks was very successful. The tent was full and a lot of people came to congratulate me after the set and that’s very rewarding. This is the best part of this work — making people happy.

Lowlights?
This summer I had a date at a festival that was held in an aqua park and I was supposed to play with Gayle San on four decks. But just when we were on the stage ready to start, it began to rain like it was the end of the world. The crowd ran around the festival and it was a very chaotic moment. We had to cancel our performance since the stage was not covered and there was a danger that we would electrocuted. We were very sad after this because it was our first time playing together and we couldn’t make it happen.

Song of the year?
Perc’s “Look What Your Love Has Done To Me”

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Stop smoking. I do not know if I’ll have enough willpower but I’ll try. At the moment I have already switched to electronic cigars. At work, try harder with musical production and release more tracks than this year.
