2017 Rewind: Kodomo

Kodomo

How was 2017 for you?
2017 was a big transition year for me and my family. Two new Kodomo releases, preparing to move to Portland, Maine, balancing some new music projects as well as scoring work and chasing around our two-year-old (actually, he’s chasing us).

Highlights?
Divider EP release is a definite highlight. It’s gratifying to see the physical result of a lot of work over time and hear people appreciating it. And finally actually visiting the Storm King sculpture garden!

Lowlights?
Getting sick, probably due to not getting enough rest. But this year I seemed to get sick way more than usual.

Song of the year?
“Andata” by Ryuichi Sakamoto. It’s like Bach disintegrating; haunting and absolutely gorgeous.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Work on new Kodomo material and complete a few of the new music project/collaborations I’ve started this year. A big goal of mine to create a platform or mini-label to host these releases along with others from like minded musicians and friends.
