2017 Rewind: Hybrasil

Hybrasil

How was 2017 for you?
Hybrasil: Really enjoyed 2017. I opened the year performing on the Space Ibiza Tour with Enzo Siragusa and San Proper at Pygmalion. Played some really nice shows at District 8 with Joseph Capriati and Len Faki. Spent my first full season in Ibiza where I played at Pure Carl Cox, Resistance, Game Over/Benimussa Park and Cafe Del Mar. Had my busiest run of festivals this year, too. Played at Forbidden Fruit with KiNK, Moderat, Peggy Gou and Aphex Twin and Boxed Off festival with Jeff Mills, Nicole Moudaber, Dense & Pika, and Enrico Sangliano. I had a good run of releases this year with EPs on Kraftek, Break New Soil, Intacto, Loose Records and launched my own Hybrasil imprint. My track Elthy hit the Techno top 100. All in all, I’m really happy with 2017.

Highlights?
Playing at Pure Carl Cox at Privilege with Joseph Capriati, tINI, Archie Hamilton and Eats Everything was an amazing experience. I warmed up for Carl Cox on the Terrace. I had friends travel from Ireland for it. It was brilliant. Performing Live at Boxed Off in front of a home crowd after a hectic summer in Ibiza was another one. The crowd was really great and the production was top.

Lowlights?
I consider everything as part of the grind. No lowlights.

Song of the year?
“Rec86” by S.JR.S on Street Life Rhythm. This label has been one of my favorites this year — everything they are putting out is top-notch. Real Techno.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
All about the fitness this year!
