2017 Rewind: Housekeeping

How was 2017 for you?
Without doubt it has been an amazing year for us Housekeeping DJs! After launching our record label last year, we have seen real traction with our music being picked up by our peers, and played by people we really admire including recognition from Pete Tong with plays on BBC Radio 1. We each have a real passion for the music we produce, therefore hearing it played by others is a feeling that never gets old.

As for the gigs, we couldn’t have asked for more. Being part of the Hï Ibiza family when it was launched this year has been incredible. We got to play alongside Black Coffee on Saturdays, and played many times at the In The Dark party on Thursdays with Luciano, Nic Fanciulli, Steve Lawler, Kolsch, Joris Voorn, and many more. The club has stretched the boundaries and created something truly breath-taking. In addition, we had the pleasure of being on the Ants line up for a couple of shows at Ushuaia. We have also really enjoyed playing in Mykonos this past summer.

We love Scorpios playing alongside Jean Claude Ades and Kas James — this is an awesome outdoor venue with a sick vibe.

With the summer over things have only got busier, with three huge shows at KOKO in London, gigs in Sweden, Dubai, Paris and finishing the year with a tour of South America, in Brazil, Peru and Ecuador.

Highlights?
Taking all this into account the highlight of the summer must have been Hï closing party, a 16-hour session with Jamie Jones, Guy Gerber, Loco Dice, Andrea Olivia, Nic Fanciulli and some of the other In The Dark DJs. The atmosphere on this night was second to none.

Lowlights?
Sometimes when playing four or five back to back gigs in various countries in just a couple of days it can be exhausting and test you, but who really needs rest when you get to do something you truly love.

Song of the year?
So many great tracks but if one has stood out I’d say “Shakti Pan” by Kellerkind feat Sven.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
A couple of years ago we all took it upon ourselves to make the resolution of never making a resolution again. This is the only one we have ever kept.
