How was 2017 for you?
DJ RAE: It’s been really great in many ways. I keep an open mind but this business still surprises me with all the twists and turns. This year had a lot of surprising moments and kept me on my toes.
Highlights?
Being on The Haçienda Classical tour. Playing the Royal Albert Hall and opening Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage was the best feeling. Does it get better? We’ll see.
Lowlights?
Not being in Ibiza as much as I would like to be. Most years I’m there a lot, not just to play and party but for my chill time too. Yeah, I’m missing it badly.
Song of the year?
Has to be Inner City “Good Life 2017.” It was one of the first house records to influence me way before I even touched the decks. Every time I play it I feel all these mad feelings — nostalgia, joy, goosebumps, and see the crowds’ energy. Such an amazing timeless tune.
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Say NO more, and procrastinate less.
