Deep-house doyen Chocky’s resume includes crafting raw, minimal releases for labels like Big Bait Records, Ears Have Eyes Recordings, Secret Reels and Flumo Recordings. In November he presented the excellent Self Knowledge EP — his debut for Steve Bug’s acclaimed Dessous Recordings. We were pleased to world premiere the title track off the release.
Just a few weeks later Chocky makes a quick return to Dessous with his upcoming Playtime EP. Stylistically the four-tracker picks up where he left off on Self Knowledge and shows more sides to his musical personality.
We’re elated to world premiere “Double Dip” from Playtime. It’s a hypnotic, stripped-down effort that’s tailor-made for late-night/early morning consumption. Chocky’s grooves are tight, his beats are big and crisp and the vibe is deeeeeep.
