The Prodigy’s Career To Be Chronicled In First-Ever Documentary

the prodigy documentary

UK electronic music heavyweights The Prodigy are the subjects of a forthcoming documentary about their storied career. The self-titled film — which does not yet have a release date — will be directed by Paul Dugdale and written alongside Sam Bridger.

The Prodigy tells the story of the group’s rise from humble beginnings in Essex, England to prominence in the nascent ’80s underground UK rave scene and ultimately global superstardom courtesy of their pummeling sound and outlandish live show.

Members Liam Howlett and Maxim will serve as co-producers. The group has dedicated the film to frontman Keith Flint who committed suicide in 2019.

Howlett and Maxim had this to say about the film project:

“WE ARE MAKING A BAND DOCUMENTARY FILM…SO FUKIN WHAT??
AFTER THE DEVASTATING PASSING OF OUR BROTHER KEEF IN 2019, THE TIME FEELS RIGHT FOR US TO TELL THE STORY OF OUR BAND, ALL OF IT, THE WHOLE 9 … ITS A STORY OF THE CHAOTIC AND TROUBLED JOURNEY OF OUR GANG, OUR BAND, THE PEOPLES BAND – THE PRODIGY.

OR SIMPLY – A STORY OF BROTHERS ON A MISSION TO MAKE NOISE…TO IGNITE THE PEOPLES SOULS AND BLOW-UP SOUND SYSTEMS WORLDWIDE…THATS FUKIN WHAT! THIS FILM WILL BE MADE WITH THE SAME INTEGRITY THAT OUR MUSIC IS – UNCOMPROMISING, RAW AND HONEST…

THIS ONE’S FOR KEEF!”
