DJ/producer/remixer/Subliminal Records boss Erick Morillo has been found dead, according to published reports. He was 49.
Morillo’s body was found this morning by Miami Beach police. The circumstances behind Morillo’s death are not yet known.
A superstar DJ who was at the top of the DJ ladder, Morillo was arrested and charged with sexual battery in August. The offense allegedly took place at Morillo’s home in Miami Beach in December.
Morillo’s massive discography includes breakout hits including 1993’s “I Like to Move It.” He helmed club nights all over the world and was a mainstay in Ibiza. More recently, he battled drug problems. In 2016, he revealed an addiction to shooting ketamine that got so bad that he nearly lost his arm.
This is a developing story.

He obviously had his demons & fought his battles over the years and god knows what he’s been going through over the last few weeks since the allegations but what ever he was accused of, whatever he is alleged to have done, this should not have been the end, I can’t believe it. pic.twitter.com/0QqchTRoEi

So sad to hear about Erick Morillo. By no means perfect & obvs a troubled soul but what a sad ending to such an incredible career. I wouldnt be a DJ if not for watching him play back in that golden Subliminal / Sondos / subliminal Soul era & he was always very kind to me. R.I.P
