New Order has announced the October 2, 2020 release of Power, Corruption & Lies – 2020 Definitive Edition, a sprawling limited-edition box set designed by Peter Saville, featuring a remastered version of the groundbreaking Manchester band’s self-produced 1983 studio album crafted from the original analog tape masters. The set is available to pre-order for US $139.98.
The collection includes the Extras CD containing previously unreleased writing sessions and a recording of the band’s 1982 John Peel Session for the BBC.
But, wait, there’s more!
The lavish set is rounded out with a DVD featuring performance footage during 1982 and 1983 83 at The Hacienda and Kilkenny; the 1984 Play at Home Channel 4 TV documentary and other rare live and TV performances. There’s also a 48-page hardcover book of rare photos and original text by Warren Jackson.
New Order formed in 1980 by vocalist/guitarist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook and drummer Stephen Morris after the sudden demise of Joy Division after Ian Curtis committed suicide that same year.
