After releasing Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shining Future last year, veteran British electronic music act Underworld — Karl Hyde and Rick Smith — have announced plans to issue a remastered deluxe reissue of their acclaimed fifth album, Beaucoup Fish, on August 25. The reissue will be available as a single CD, a four-CD super deluxe box set and a double-vinyl LP.
Beaucoup Fish is notable for containing brilliant tracks including the pulsating “Moaner,” frenetic dance floor jam “King of Snake,” and groovy downtempo number “Cups.” It’s also the last album featuring former member Darren Emerson, who went on to enjoy a productive career as a DJ/producer/label owner.
Audiophile geeks take note: Beaucoup Fish was remastered by Rick Smith at Abbey Road Studios. As per all of Underworld’s releases, packaging and artwork was handled by Underworld collaborators tomato design.
