Holy shit, Britain. That’s what we — and millions of people around the world — exclaimed when they woke up this morning to learn that Britain had voted in a referendum to leave the European Union. As a result of the Brexit vote Prime Minister David Cameron will down as prime minister by October and UKIP leader Nigel Farage has declared “independence day.” Leave won by 52% to 48% and the referendum turnout was 71.8%. As the pound plunges against the dollar, and the nation enters what will no doubt be a long period of uncertainty, DJs, many of whom traipse around Europe from gig to gig, are bemoaning the outcome of the vote on Twitter. “I’m actually embarrassed to be British today,” tweeted Jesse Rose. Others, like Skream, were event more direct about their disappointment: “You fucking retards…..” Here are a several reactions about the historic vote.
It’s a very strange feeling to wake up this morning with my wife and my son being no longer européen !!!! We are shocked.

This morning feels like the selfish triumphed. Feels like the beginning of the end of Europe, and hello terminal instability.Unity rejected.

It seems like a country should need a hell of a lot more than 50 percent of a vote to break from a bond like the European Union.
