Soul Clap Launch Kickstarter to Make George Clinton Music Video

Soul Clap kickstarter

It was a dream come true when Charlie and Eli from Soul Clap met Parliament-Funkadelic legend George Clinton last year. Longtime fans of P-Funk, the EFUNK progenators got the once-in-alifetime opportunity to record with the icon in May 2013 over the span of three days at Red Bull Studios in Los Angeles. One of the cuts that came out of the session came to be known as “In Da Kar.” Now the duo are hoping to take the track to a wider audience with a super-duper music video directed by Gabe Munitz-Alessio (he previously directed Soul Clap’s “The Clapping Song” feat. Baby Prince & The Fam), and they’re asking fans to support the costly project.

In a candid video posted today on their Kickstarter page, the duo speak openly about how the $20,000 cost of the music video is beyond the means of their DIY indie label, Soul Clap Records.

In exchange for contributions to their endeavor, the pair is offering everything from playing supporters’ house parties to limited-edition T-shirts to even adding fans’ names on the record for contributing to the cause.
