At the end of October, Brighton-based house music heavyweights Prok | Fitch — Ben Prok and James Fitch — debuted on Hot Creations by way of their slinky two-track Tease EP.
For their latest and greatest, the venerable duo collaborated with London vocalist Kyozo, an artist they found on SoundCloud. Below Ben and James fill us in about “Tease” and share a selection of tracks they’re currently living for.
1. Prok | Fitch – Tease (Hot Creations)
We’ve been wanting to do an original vocal record for some time but struggle to find singers that really do it for us. We found Kyozo on SoundCloud, and the creative vibe in the studio was instant. “Tease” was the first track we worked on, and it just came together effortlessly!
2. Mr. Diamond – Petra Disco (Solid Grooves Raw)
Solid Grooves are on fire at the moment. We love the simplicity of this record. The groove is instant and that vocoder vocal is super infectious. No big breaks needed or clever production, just a proper groove.
3. Unknown Artist – Superwoman DM01
We found this record on Bandcamp, a great outlet for some cool edits over lockdown. This is a great rework of an amazing Laurie Anderson record. The sample runs throughout the whole record. Definitely a moment record in our sets.
4. CAAL, Baum – Every Night (Leon Remix) Do Not Sleep
The bumpy groove in this locks you in from the start. Siren synths and cool little breaks keep the vibe going all the way till the end. This is the kind of record that would fit anywhere in our DJ sets.
5. Blaze – Dance to my Beat (Solid Groove Remix) (Slip n Slide)
One from the vaults that’s back in our box. We’ve always loved this remix of “Dance to My Beat” and it seems to fit perfectly with our sound at the moment.
