How was 2019 for you?
Omid 16B: After a long period of finishing my Silenciety album, it was good to finally have a little break from studio commitments and go out and socialize a little! I caught up with some old and new peers and also made some nice moves to collaborate with some of my favorite artists! I also stopped smoking and started swimming again, I bought a few new bits of gear and Silenciety is finally available as physical copies as well as digital!
Highlights?
Working with Sarah at Favouritizm made my life so much easier, and I couldn’t have wished for a better partnership doing the Nitty Gritty party with her, Talal and others at House Of St Barnabas raising money for the homeless!
Finally getting the album Silenciety out after seven years of hard work making sure it was what it turned into. The hours, the blood and sweat was something I’d never done before and I had to do it from the heart completely, otherwise I couldn’t go along with it!
As far as my childhood is concerned, being one of their biggest fans, knowing The Cure have a new album coming soon has got me very excited to say the least! Wrapping 2019 with a few tracks confirmed for sync and a new distribution deal for all our labels!
Lowlights?
My JX3 synth breaking down and having to service my Jupiter 6, not sleeping too well after packing in smoking and finding myself wanting to eat more than usual!
Song of the year?
Burial & Four Tet’s “Moth” (Putney-born btw). Sorry, just can’t get sick of listening to this. [There’s] healing energy in there [that] puts a big smile on my face!
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Stay strong, stay focused with my heart at the helm of course, get two more albums out and possibly do another SOS CD and tour … let’s see x.
