2018 Rewind: H.I.M.W.O.L.

H.I.M.W.O.L.

How was 2018 for you?

H.I.M.W.O.L.: It was a huge year for myself in many ways, and it still feels very surreal. I actually don’t think I’ve fully realized it yet. I worked really hard in the studio and somehow managed to have a single release, DJ mix and LP all of which happened this year. It’s kept me extremely busy but at the same time has proved that with hard work a lot can be accomplished.

Highlights?

Being asked to do a DJ mix for Unquantize Recordings has always been a goal of mine. I feel very proud and honored to have been asked to do so. I’ve never released a mixed cd before. DJ Spen and Tommy Davis have always supported and kept the faith in me.

Lowlights?

I feel very fortunate to be honest, and I think this year has been a really positive one. I’ve always had the attitude of not trying to get too far ahead of myself and when there may have been setbacks. I’ve always tried to keep pushing on and put as much positive energy into my production as possible.

Song of the year?

So many tracks to choose from, but the one track that caught my ears was Selace – So Hooked On Your Lovin (Mousse T.’s Extended Disco Shizzle).

What’s your New Year’s resolution?

I’ve never been one to have new year’s resolutions, but I’d like to keep backing myself and to continue pushing the boundaries in the studio.I’d love to just keep producing songs that give me enjoyment but most of all hopefully give my fan lots of enjoyment through my music as well.
