How was 2018 for you?
Local Suicide: It was our busiest and most productive year so far with over 70 gigs all over Europe and tours to Asia in the beginning and end of the year. We have had three releases out this year:
“Le Nez D’Une Génération” with Rodion was released in May on Kasper Bjørke and Sexy Lazer’s Sisters & Brothers mini compilation on hfn music, which is also included in the Best of 2018 hfn compilation; Edo Kai Tora/Ganz Falsch EP with Mijo and remixes by Sascha Funke and Simple Symmetry which was was released in July via San Francisco’s Roam Recordings; and “Vespertines Unite” with Low Manuel came out on Nothing is Real’s first compilation on December 24 to close off the year.
We were also able to finish most of the new music that we had recorded in the past two years with friends and talented producers such as Curses, Theus Mago, Franz Matthews, Skelesys, Böse Blicke and signed it to some of our favorite labels like Tusk Wax, OMBRA, Duro, Eskimo Recordings and Lumière Noire. Expect to hear a lot of new material from us in 2019!
Highlights?
Our ten-year anniversary show at La Java in Paris, and our first Russia tour for the OBERWAVE anniversary.
Lowlights?
The scene seems to get more competitive. We are missing the enthusiasm and mutual support among artists.
Song of the year?
Russian Girls & Kraftgalli – Bióbabb for home listening and warming up
and prime time banger Damon Jee & Snem K – Dear Humans
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Spend more time in the studio, travel to new exciting places and take better care of ourselves.
