How was 2018 for you?
Ultra Naté: It’s been a whirlwind!
Highlights?
Putting my Black Stereo Faith band on stage, spending some summer weeks in Ibiza and Barcelona, singing at The Sydney Opera House with a 45-piece orchestra and successfully putting my party Deep Sugar on tour for our 15th Anniversary. I also DJ’d some great events like The Australian Hair Fashion Awards, The Black & Blue Montreal and AIM Electronic Music festival there as well.
Lowlights?
I don’t remember actually. I purposed a lot of things in my heart and mind for 2018 and most of them happened. Whatever didn’t happen I don’t dwell on.
Song of the year?
“Can’t Let You Go” – Louie Vega & Loleatta Holloway
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
I don’t know if I make resolutions per se. I kind of set intentions and work towards the goal. I don’t reveal too much in advance though; I feel like it’s a jinx!
I can tell you 2019 is my 30th Anniversary in the music biz, and I have a new album to finish. It will be my tenth album release, and I think that makes it extra special!! I also have some business goals not specifically related to music on the agenda for the first time that are pretty interesting and inspire me in a whole different way.
