2018 Rewind: DJ Lady D

dj lady d

How was 2018 for you?

DJ Lady D: At the start of 2018 I began advising music and performance students and curating events at the local college for creatives, Columbia College Chicago. I’m still here one year later and writing another chapter in an upcoming book. Hence, I stayed quite local yet in demand in 2018.

Highlights?

Established myself as an influencer in my market for brands like T-Mobile and the Chicago Public Library. I spoke on some music panels, one about Frankie Knuckles that included Ralphi Rosario and Joe Shanahan (owner of Smart Bar Chicago). Helped some charities/organizations with their missions and renewed my voting membership for The Grammys.

Lowlights?

Didn’t get into the studio and work on producing any music this year even when I know it’s the gateway to touring more. Bummer. I’ll have to get on that.

Song of the Year?

Floorplan (Robert Hood) – Tell You No Lie. You can play that for 15 minutes and people won’t tire of it. Tune!

What’s your New Year’s resolution?

To share my story; be influential and impactful.
