2018 Rewind: Tominori Hosoya

Tomi Chair

How was 2018 for you?

Tominori Hosoya: It was not a lot of activity, but it was a wonderful year that I had a release of my first album, Halfway (TH Pressing). And I’m preparing for release for next year.

Highlights?

The release of Halfway. I made this package over three years and it was satisfying to finally release it. This is a culmination of my life’s work.

Lowlights?

I don’t have anything particular, but I think that my some release projects were too late. Therefore I will be busy next year.

Song of the year?

There was a lot of good music. Very difficult to choose one, but if I say… Francis Harris’s Trivial Occupations. This album was the most influential release for me this year. In the second half of this year, I was into making ambient/chillout musics. [During] that time, I saw this album. It is a deep and beautiful album like club music and modern music. Really great soundscape.

What’s your new year’s resolution?

I’m still making next music for next year. Now I have already some release projects for next year. Not only house/techno music but also ambient/chillout releases with some labels. I’m looking forward to show my various music to you all. Enjoy your holidays and happy new year!
