ANNA Talks 5 Tracks of the Moment Ahead of Unleashing ‘Razor EP’ on NovaMute & The Cityfox Experience Regenerate DJ Set

DJ-ANNA-BRAZIL

Brazil-born ANNA has been spreading the techno gospel for several years now. With each year in the game she continues to grow her sound as a DJ and producer.

This month marks a professional milestone for ANNA, who is Barcelona-based. She’s set to make her debut on the recently revived and highly revered NovaMute, a label whose catalog includes seminal releases by techno legends such as Richie Hawtin to Joey Beltram.

ANNA’s Razor EP, which is out May 25, sonically depicts her impressive musical maturation. Simply put: she is in the creative zone and presenting tracks that are nothing short of transformative. (Fun fact: the title track evolved while playing her favorite Roland MKS-80, a vintage synth from 1985.

Ahead of ANNA’s much-anticipated set at The City Fox Experience’s Regenerate party in Brooklyn on Saturday, May 19, featuring Martin Buttrich, John Tejada (live), and more, we touched base with the globetrotting technocrat about five tracks dominating her sets.

Wehbba – Glasswork (Drumcode)
It was released on Drumcode in February, and I still play it in every set. It makes such an impact. The heavy bassline with the acid line is amazing!

Troy – Algol (Klokworks)
What a track! I could listen to this pad with this acid line forever.

Steve Parker – Firefly
The bass lead is the star here. It creates such an atmosphere on the dance floor — it makes magic!

Diego Amura – Phalaina (Ben Sims Jacking Remix)
Love the treatment Ben Sims gave to this track. It’s energetic, straightforward and perfect for the peak time!

Marc Romboy – Galaxy in An Atom (Kompakt)
I love everything here — what a beautiful and emotional track. Marc Romboy and Kompakt could not go wrong.
