UK-based DJ/producer Louis Benton shifted his summer into high gear at the end of July by dropping his bass-driven vocal-house stormer “Overcome” featuring Malisha Bleau on Get Twisted Records.
The imprint run by Tough Love has become a hotbed for emerging and rising talent including Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, Sandy Riviera, Amine Edge & DANCE, Man Without A Clue, Purple Disco Machine, and Full Crate.
Success isn’t new to Benton. Back in 2012 he delivered “Weekend Offender” with DJ/production partner Francois, a collabo that has accumulated over 8 million views on YouTube. The pair continue to make musical magic: Last month they dropped “The Tournament” / “Vader” on Four40.
As he steams to the end of a busy summer, we connected with the rising star and asked him to share five tracks he’s currently living for at the moment.
Chris Lorenzo & DJ Zinc – Gammy Elbow
Absolutely loving this at the minute. It’s been going down a storm in all of my Francois & Louis Benton sets.
LO’99 & Marshall F – Fallen (Like Son Remix)
Great tune. I’ve been playing this a lot in my sets. Seems to do some damage on the dance floors.
Jack Wins ft. Francci Richard – I Used to Love You
I love the brass sound they have used in this track! It goes great with the powerful vocal. Quite a commercial tune I guess, but I enjoy playing it.
Like Son – Freakin’
I like the down pitched vocal with the catchy vocal loop on the drop. It works with the bassline and goes down great in my sets.
DJ Licious – I Hear You Calling
Again, I love the brass sound and the powerful vocal. Absolutely massive at the minute! I enjoy playing this.
