Hanne Adam is a Berlin-based multidiscipline creative who specializes in music production as well as photography, film, graphic and sound design. Under the umbrella of her Adamned.Age alias she has forged a forward-thinking musical signature encompassing electronica, dub, downtempo and experimental.
So far 2017 has been a pretty monumental year for Adam. She self-released her debut EP, Living in a Damn Age, a bold sonic document of her evolving style. It set the stage for her brand new Trust Love EP on Amselcom, featuring beautiful, evocative washes of synth-driven melodies juxtaposed with gentle beats. The EP is rounded out nicely with choice remixes from Italian duo 2040, Rome-based Dragos Sulgheru and Dutch producer Trippin Jaguar.
As Adam plots her next release, we checked in and asked her about five tracks that are currently providing her with musical joy and inspiration.
1. Avatism feat. Forrest – “Different Spaces” (Original Mix) (Vakant)
Dark, subtle sounds with a great beat. Very moody and melancholic but not too much. I do like the kind of mystic vocals here. Avatism is one of my favorite composers; the solo stuff but also some stuff with Clockwork (CW/A).
2. Dolph – “Still” (Amselcom)
This track is so very laid-back and relaxing. One of the tracks I really must move to, whether it is or isn’t a classical dance track. “Dolph” is also one of my favorite musicians at the moment — very talented in creating unique sounds which is the most important thing today.
3. Kiasmos – “Thrown” (Erased Tapes)
This track is so minimalistic in its structure but all in all it is full of little details, tiny melodies and repetitions. It is like stroking my soul. I know Kiasmos from Ólafur Arnalds (Iceland), who is creating more electro-acoustic, ambient, soundtrack sounds. He is a fantastic instrumentalist. With “Kiasmos” he found a fusion to the more electronic side.
4. Tony Casanova & Gabriel Vitel – “Something Change”
A track I really play often, because it is a very catchy song. The straight beat combined with the “dark” voice and the hopping melodies are awesome. Found him via SoundCloud.
5. PHCK – “I Can’t Decide” (Original Mix) (Tiefblau Records)
Very danceable and hypnotic but also a track you can just intensively listen to. It’s a track I always love to listen to while walking through the streets of Berlin.
