Solidisco’s 5 Favorite Songs of the Moment on SoundCloud

Solidisco

After remixing The Knocks’ “Comfortable” and Mystery Skulls’ “Ghost” and dropping their Top of the World EP, Buffalo, NY disco-house duo Solidisco — Matt McGurn and Don Skotnicki — continue their upward musical ascent by remixing Chromeo’s “Jealous (I Ain’t With It).” One of the best tracks from Chromeo’s new album, White Women, McGurn and Skotnicki funk up the jam like nobody’s business. We caught up with the pair and asked them to share their five favorite songs of the moment on SoundCloud.

1. Hard Rock Sofa & Skidka – “Arms Around Me” (Original Mix)
Axtone can already do no wrong in our eyes as a label, so when Axwell and company release a disco inspired tune, you know we’re going to be all about it. This is a must play in every single one of our sets this summer.

2. Chromeo – “Jealous” (Solidisco Remix)
We love Chromeo’s new album White Women, and we were super geeked up to be able to remix the funk lords’ latest single. If this isn’t enough Chromeo for you, we also can’t stop listening to “Somethingood” and “Old 45s” from the album!

3. Alex Metric & Oliver – “Galaxy”
Damn, Alex Metric outdid himself on this one. He brought in the Oliver guys to create this spaced-out disco monster that sounds straight out of the early ’80s. This piano riff has us feeling some type of way.

4. Cam’ron & A-Trak — “Dipsh*ts”
Had to include this one. Dipset & Atrak and then Just Blaze & Oliver on the beat!?!? The sample-based hip-hop feel that we grew up on updated for 2014. Gotta drink a bottle of peach Ciroc to this one.

5. Tensnake & Jacques Lu Cont feat. Jamie Lidell – “Feel Of Love”
This is our favorite off of Tensnake’s fantastic Glow album. He teams up with Jacques Lu Cont and creates an ’80s-inspired smash. I’m going to pull a Squints and make out with some hot lifeguards to this one at some pool parties this summer…..wait do people still get Sandlot movie references?
