Lily Allen Does About Face On Chemical Bros’ Ed Simons

Lily Allen has reportedly broken up again with The Chemical Brothers’ Ed Simons. Allen announced the couple’s split on her Facebook page. Allen parted ways with Simons in January after she miscarried the couple’s baby. At Glastonbury in June (where she learned her grandmother had died), the couple seemed to have reconciled and offered hints of the reunion on their Facebook pages last month. (On July 7, Lily changed her status to “in a relationship with Ed Simons.”)

However, Allen has reverted back to her single status, after updating her profile. On Friday, an upset Lily posted that she was “wasting away.”

Grooverider is included on a list of possible pardons which will be dealt with during Ramadan, which falls in September. Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed, traditionally pardons foreigners caught with small amounts of narcotics during religious holidays. The pardon would have come during a period which coincided with the birthday of the prophet Mohammed.

Last November, Grooverider was arrested at Dubai International Airport after a customs search revealed he was in possession of two grams cannabis and a pornographic DVD. Though he had hoped for an early release, some speculate that the government is using him as an example of their zero-tolerance against those who attempt to bring drugs and pornography into the country.

Nearly 17,000 people have signed an online petition asking th government of Dubai to pardon English drum ‘n’ bass DJ/producer Grooverider.

A spokesman for the DJ’s management said: “He’s bearing up but desperate to get out.”

In 2007, 59 Britons were arrested for drug related offenses in Dubai. In a related story, an English woman is facing six years in prison for allegedly having sex on a Dubai beach.

Lazaro Casanova is set to take over Vanguard in Hollywood this Saturday, July 26. The Miami native who has toured with the likes of MSTRKRFT and The Juan Maclean is known for his crazy remixes and bootleg re-edits. After getting a pair of decks as a younger, Casanova started making the club rounds in Miami making a name for himself as the DJ boy wonder. Now, barely in his twenties and armed with a remix catalogue that includes The Knife, The Teenagers and Crystal Castles, Casanova’s set is sure to bring in the house while still retaining an electro-street feel.

The event will also feature a DJ set from Does It Offend You, Yeah?, the British electro-rock band known for their drunken debauchery, stage diving and smashing of instruments. Since their breakout single “We Are Rockstars” dropped last year, the band has come out of obscurity to open for the Bloc Party on their forthcoming US tour. Earlier that night they headline a show with The Black Ghosts.

Casanova’s buddy Felix Cartal (whom he affectionately callse Feezy) opens the Vanguard event with his wild electro remixes including Dragonette, Julien K and maybe even a Britney Spears electroclash track. Yeah, you know you wanna hear the Britney, bitch.
