Irving Plaza Gets Major Renovation and Reopening Date

Here’s another sign of life in New York City slowly getting back to normal. Live Nation has announced the reopening of Irving Plaza on Tuesday, August 17. The historic venue, which first opened its doors in 1978, has welcomed a plethora of acts from a wealth of musical styles over the years.

While the club has been shuttered due to lockdown rules imposed to stop the spread of COVID-19, the entire venue has received a multi-million dollar renovation, including the addition of an upscale VIP Lounge with a private bar and balcony-level boxes.

Irving Plaza’s dank dressing rooms have also been overhauled and the lobby has been significantly expanded. What’s more is that the club has installed a Cisco Wifi 6, a Wi-Fi network purpose-built for dense areas.

Obligatory press release gush from Geoff Gordon, regional president, Live Nation: “We are excited to reveal our grand reopening series of shows and look forward to reopening our doors and bringing live music back to New York City. It will be great to finally be able to reconnect music fans with their favorite artists, especially here in this beautifully restored room. Irving Plaza is filled with incredible music memories and these spectacular renovations will allow us to host even more amazing concerts.”

The Irving Plaza Grand Reopening Series of Shows include:
