André Hommen 5 Tracks Of The Moment

André Hommen

In almost every artist interview, the question of the next release will arise. In the case of André Hommen, who released the nine-track debut, More Than This, earlier this month on his These Eyes label, there won’t be any new music.

After building his production career by releasing on Dennis Ferrer’s Objektivity as well as Poker Flat and Systematic, Hommen has decided to transition away from DJing and producing. This means his debut album doubles as his swan song.

At least Hommen is going out on a high note. More Than This is a journey into the lush depths of soul-soothing melodic deep house and electronica. The tracks have been patiently and purposefully created. The result is an album of cinematic, highly authentic gems.

We connected with the Germany-based Hommen — whose label will continue on as normal — and asked him to tell us about his five tracks of the moment.

Koraal – Vuurduin – Nous’klaer

I really like the label Nous’klaer from Rotterdam. They did an incredible vinyl production for their compilation series called Paerels. Nobody really knows who Koraal is but I do think I know. Definitely my track of the moment right now.

JMII – Thrills – Hivern Discs

I went through my records yesterday and re-discovered this amazing release by JMII on John Talabot’s Hivern Discs. Definitely back in my box now.

Shaw & Grossfeldt – Klavier MF – Drone

A bit more dub-technoish orientated vibes from Shaw & Grossfeldt’s album Klavier on Drone. I actually prefer the first track “Klavier PP,” but I also really like this track and especially the video.

Calimex Mental Implant Corp – El Saber Del Arpavor – Nightwind Records

I recently found this while digging through the Kompakt record store. A full album with various electronic styles produced by Danny Wolfers (a.k.a. Legowelt). A very nice album from start to finish, and it is actually from 2015 I think.

André Hommen – Mirror – These Eyes

Taken from my album More Than This which has been released via my own label, These Eyes. For me, basically, the highlight of the album but here I will just let the music speak.
