2018 Rewind: Bass Agenda

Andy Bass Agenda

How was 2018 for you?

Bass Agenda: As far the podcast and label go, it’s been a great year. I like to look back and see that I’ve covered a range of sounds with the guests I’ve had. Having the likes of Frankie Bones, Helena Hauff, and Legowelt on made sure I hit that goal. Label-wise, it’s been busy too. I would like to have done a couple more vinyl, but it’s come down to money as always.

Highlights?

w1b0 DJing at Dave Clarke’s Whip It earlier this year was a highlight for sure. Seeing some folks from the electro underground scene getting much deserved recognition has been heartening. The loyalty and enthusiasm of some fans for the podcast always keeps my fire burning.

Lowlights?

Ninety-nine percent of people in the British Government. A large number of artists and labels in the underground electro scene not being recognized due to media, etc. favoring a small handful of people repeatedly instead of digging deeper.

Song of the year?

Man, that is an impossible question! Christian Smith & Wehbba’s “Living in a Vacuum” (Zeta Reticula remix) is definitely up there though.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?

Less social media.
