How was 2017 for you?
Kenny Summit: 2017 was fuckin’ horrible and fantastic at the same time. I busted my Achilles tendon earlier in the year and was off my feet for about five months. Attended my first IMS Ibiza, which was incredibly productive (think WMC circa 2000); and after a four-year struggle Sony finally granted us permission to release the Lou Rawls’ “You’ll Never Find” remix (last record Frankie Knuckles ever worked on and the last track he played at his final gig). Good For You Records hit some landmarks: 200+ releases, made deals to put out two five-year anniversary compilations — one mixed by Danny Krivit and another by Mark Farina which will come out in early 2018; the Paradise Garage compilation was finalized and will be coming out this year in partnership with Serato (a double 12″ controller vinyl), which is a charity project to raise money for the GMHC. ADE 2017 was huge for GFY: we had three sold-out events, each with incredible lineups. We took on a new general manager for the label, recruited some great A&Rs and we’re working with a new PR team to make sure every release gets the proper attention they deserve. I guess aside from the achilles industry, 2017 was aiight.
Song of the year?
Oscar Sulley & The Uhuru Dance Band – “Bukom Mashie” (JKriv Edit)
JKriv absolutely smashed this joint. This one stays in my crate.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Cut meat out of my diet, make more time for meditation, and just try to be as productive as possible.
