How was 2017 for you?
Tommy Bones: 2017 was a very productive year for me. I’ve been breaking boundaries with productions, pushing on with forward-thinking music. I’m always learning as I go, but quality labels and DJs have been liking my stuff. So I’m very thankful! Also my Live from 4-4 Studio’s NYC show has really taken off. It is a two-hour show that features upfront cutting edge house music. It has been so successful that we are working on getting it syndicated on music platforms all over the world.
Highlights?
Getting records picked up by Dopewax, Nervous, Deep Visions and others. Having a solid core group of people believing in my talents and supporting me!
Lowlights?
Having a friend of mine pass away. He was a famous promoter/dancer that went by the name Voodoo Ray. He was a super-talented person with vision. It was heartbreaking to receive the news.
Song of the year?
I would have to say CJ Jeff, Honey Dijon, Seven Davis Jr.’s “Shots in The Dark on Objectivity.” This jam always sets the dance floor on fire!
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Keep grinding and don’t look back; stay future thinking and on the pulse of what is happening. I’m already on this, but I just want to keep it going and take it to the next level!
