How was 2017 for you?
C-Jay: A very nice year, both privately and musically! Things calmed down a bit after a very, very hectic 2016 (remember I did two artist albums on Bedrock that year?), giving me time to go into the studio and work slowly but steadily on a new album that I hope to release somewhere in 2018. I had some nice gigs, made about 50 percent of my new album, did a dance track for Tripswitch’s new OneDotSixTwo label, and I’m healthy. So, all in all, a nice year.
Highlights?
Pfff … always a difficult end of year question. But I think my gig with John Digweed in the legendary Melkweg venue in Amsterdam can easily be named as one of the highlights. That was one truly amazing night!
Lowlights?
In all honesty? My mum being really sick, as she has ALS. She already has it for some years now, but 2017 has been a horrible year for her. This might not be too glamorous an answer, but there you go… And stressing how much ALS sucks, can’t be done enough.
Song of the year?
Thorsten Quaeschning & Ulrich Schnauss – Thirst (Pedigree Cuts)
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To be as productive as I can and finish my new album.
