How does globetrotting DJ/producer Guy Gerber (a.k.a. the self-described Larry David of techno) plan to top last year’s Wisdom of the Glove residency at Pacha? By starting a club night on the White Isle with no lineups or set times. Beginning May 27, Gerber’s new endeavor, Rumors, which shares its name with the jock’s label, will kick off at Plan Be. Rumors will run every week from June 10 until October 7. The parties will take place at Plan Be every Tuesday daytime from 12pm to midnight on the terrace and occasionally from 10pm to 3am inside the room. Obligatory press release gush from Gerber: “We believe in 3 to 4 hour sets for every artist. We want the artists to tell a musical story to the dance floor. That’s also why we prefer to repeat the DJs we invite once a month, to build a public following and allow them to fully foment their own vibe. Also, we want the public to come to the party because they trust us and are happy to wait for quality music and good dance floor times! Rumors is like a joke about the music industry where rumors and politics are everywhere… We just want to create GOOD and FUN gossip and make fun of the seriousness of it all in the process!” While no names of DJs have been made public even to us press types, the party promises to have a mix of big-name artists and emerging DJs.
