Almost two years after Simon Cowell’s dream of presenting DJ talent competition DJ Idol ran out of gas after he reportedly clashed with Sony Pictures and partners Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment, Cowell’s Syco Entertainment has announced that the TV show is back on thanks to a strategic partnership with the evil empire emerging concert/entertainment brand SFX. Now called Ultimate DJ, the program will seek out emerging DJs and follow the same formula as American Idol and X-Factor. T-Mobile will be the presenting sponsor.
