Every mention — including this one — of Martin Garrix’s massive success courtesy of his breakthrough EDM track “Animals” relates that he’s only 17. While DJs and dance-music producers are indeed getting younger (Bondax, Madeon, Danny Avila) , 10-year-old New York-based DJ/producer Aiden Jude is eyeing the big time with his upcoming debut, “Tonight,” due out April 14 on Shap Records. The fifth grader’s uncle Coleman apparently “made his mark in the fashion world and high end events starting in the early 90’s” so it looks like a taste for music runs in the family along with some pretty deep connections.
Looking at his social media accounts (which don’t seem like they’re maintained by a 10-year-old) , young Jude really likes ice cream, Y-3 sneakers and skiing. He apparently went to Winter Music Conference and ran into Paris Hilton and Kaskade, taking buddy pictures with both of them.
Jude will also release a remix EP on April 28 and is readying — brace yourself — to make his LA debut with three gigs: April 16 at The Attic with Mobb Deep and DJ Equal; April 17 at Hooray Henrey’s; and April 18 at The Supperclub. Could an appearance at Ultra Music Festival in his future? I wouldn’t bet against it at this point.
